An Antique Warehouse Wedding

We photographed a banger of a wedding celebration in the heart of Chicago on New Years Eve.

We started at the bride's childhood home where decades of memories lived in the walls and the getting-ready moments felt deeply personal.

And we ended the night in a breath-taking, three story antique warehouse called Salvage One in Chicago’s vibrant West Town area, known for its artsy character, historic buildings, and creative energy. There were rows of pillars, clawfoot tubs, porcelain sinks, and architectural salvage treasures surrounded the celebration (and yes, you can actually shop the pieces). It was moody, artful, and wildly romantic.

Wedding photography taken with a documentary and candid approach can be very timeless and beautiful, especially on 35mm film. I love the warm glow and soft grain from the chandeliers at the reception on film. There's such a nostalgic romance that digital simply can’t replicate.

We stayed past midnight, we always get the real good stuff at the end, their New Year’s Eve kiss at the ball drop, champagne in the air… and peep ours too ;)

A Chicago New Year’s Eve wedding like this is why we love what we do: historic spaces, sentimental beginnings, analog film magic, and the new year starting on the dance floor.
